Zai A. Sarkar B.Eng. M.B.A – President and C.E.O.
Zai headed the Universal Solutions Inc. initiative that developed the Wyzgo solution. He acquired his knowledge of the tourism during his role as Chief Technology Officer at the Canadian Tourism Commission in Canada.
He is also accredited with development of the first extranet for Canadian Tourism businesses , the Universal Solutions’ publishing platform for website translation, and the first bilingual financial software package at SHL SystemHouse Ltd where he served as Manager of Systems Implementation and Customer Support
Zai is firmly committed to sharing and empowerment. He is focused on bringing the benefits of the sharing economy, combined with language technology and tourism marketing into the Wyzgo solution.
He brings a rich mix of industry, technology and management experience from a variety of projects in information systems and marketing in the energy, heavy industry, health, technology and tourism sectors.
He is a serial entrepreneur, team builder and strategist with a good eye for technology trends. Zai believes that the emergence of the sharing economy will triumph self-interest and become a firm and permanent reality around the world. He shaped the marketing strategy for Universal Solutions accordingly and is looking to build a strong team of professionals who share his vision.
Zai is a graduate of McGill University in electrical engineering and holds an M.B.A from Concordia University. He is also trained in Advanced Project Management, Strategic Planning and Security Systems.
In addition to his responsibilities for leading the Universal Solutions team, Zai is involved in many local community projects.
Paul Savard, Business Development
Paul Savard is a Director at Welch Consulting Group. An entrepreneurial, results-focused consultant with practical and creative problem solving skills, Stephen excels at strategic, integrative thinking that divines opportunity from highly complex and uncertain environments.
Prior to joining Midland, Paul held management and executive positions in sales, marketing, business development and product management in leading global companies including Procter & Gamble, SHL Systemhouse, Oracle, and Watchfire. As a consultant he has been a business advisor to many organizations, spanning from owner-operated businesses and high technology start-ups to governments and Fortune 100 corporations.
Paul primarily consults in the area of business strategy, including market and competitor research and analysis, product strategy, capitalization strategy, business planning and engineering high-valuation exits. He works extensively with owner-operated businesses and high technology startups.
Paul is a member of the board of CMC-Ontario and chair of its Ottawa chapter as well as chair of the Ottawa eBusiness Cluster and serves on OCRI’s Ottawa Global Marketing Advisory Council. Stephen has been a keynote speaker, panelist and presented papers at numerous technology industry conferences as well as lectured on entrepreneurship, marketing, and high technology business strategy at Dalhousie University, the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now part of Dalhousie) and Acadia University.
Paul is an honours graduate of the Dalhousie University School of Business and a certified management consultant (CMC).
Alea Horak, Sales Operations
Alea started her career managing sales teams in the Canadian Telco space. Her specialty is working with organizations that test new products in an incubation environment, and taking sales teams of 10 to 150 strong in short time frames. Learning from the tutelage of seasoned sales executives from around the globe, Alea now consults with small businesses on change management and operational aspects for growing sales teams based in Canada with Global focus.

Dave Maulik, Bachelor of Computer Engineering, Software Architect
Dave brings more than ten years of experience as a Computer Software Engineer & Architect.
His expertise includes Client/Server Applications on various architectural design patterns.
Dave is proficient with Amazon AWS cloud architectures, CentOS, SQL Server, MySQL and MariaDB databases, Microsoft Foundation Classes, data scraping and Object Oriented Techniques.
He has expertise in developing application using Java, .NET 4.5/ 4.0/ 3.5, MS Visual Studio 2017/ a well as WordPress implementations.
Dave has worked on some fifty projects including twenty websites.
He has trained over 200 developers in various aspects of website technologies.
He has wide research in many aspects of computing. In 2013 he managed to have one of his articles “Survey: Data Storage Security in Cloud Computing” published in the International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer Science and Software Engineering.
